I will worn you, your Dana 35 rear axle WILL NOT STAND this long. Consider the popular conversion to Ford 8.8. Have the 4.7 liter stroker..made it 30,000 miles, when it came apart took out the drive shaft and TRANSFER case..not good.

Good Luck
While not turbo,,,here is more good reading.

turbo would not realy be a good choice for the 4.0 due to the fact that the intake and exhaust mani's are on the same side it would be a nightmare the fab up an header that would be efficiant. supercharging would be the way to go if anyone makes a kit but I'm going to go on a limb and say you cant turbo a 4.0l and have the reward be more then the investment.

while on the surface it would appear impractical, however if you study the design of the datsun 280-z turbo as a model [also intake and exhaust on the same side] it can be done, but you will need to have much better than good fabrication skills and a bushel basket or two of cash [ if you make it work the jeep world will beat a path to your door.]

Sorry bro, but no matter what you do to it, it will still be an SUV.
