Yeah plan 8 saturdays in a row for him to do HARD LABOR.
Tell him you will pay him on the 8th saturday.Give him 20 dollars.Make sure he works ALL day each day and that the work is VERY hard and FILTHY!
When you give him his 20 dollars(dont tell him beforehand how much he will be GETTING paid, just say it WILL BE FAIR) then tell him this is what he will have to look forward to with little or no education, no college degree.Explain he will GET to work like a dirty dog for almost NOTHING and live in trashed out mobile homes paying HIGH dollar rent for them, paying his own utilities, driving junk and BARELY eating.
THEN take a calculator, and a news paper have him find a place and a car, figure up all the bills, car payments, utilities rent groceries gas, and then figure out what his take home pay will be at a generous republican/democrat 8 dollars and hr minimum wage a few yrs from now.He will be sick.
Then explain to him how college educated CEO'S live well of the money he will be earning them by working for nothing basically, and how they will have more millions a yr than they know what to do with.If THAT doesnt do the trick, then just drive him to the nearest homeless shelter on his 18th birthday.

First, get his eyes and ears checked. It is amazing how many kids don't tell their parents that they can't see or hear correctly. Then take him to doctor and see if he is medically okay and not on any drugs.
Is it all of his school work or just some of it. For example, does he like music and art, but not do math and science. He may need extra tutoring to find out what he is missing so things make sense to him again.
If all else fails, tell him no driver's license until he has at least a C average (accumulative) and see if that gets him going.

My brother has had that problem for years and he is 17. My parents have tried taking things away from him, telling him that he will never make it in life (that doesn't work either). The only thing that has kept him somewhat focused on school is limiting social activities, like not letting him get out and hang with friends, and taking medication for ADD.

Check out a book about strong willed children
Parenting the Strong-willed child it's by Dr John Rosemond. Very good, get it now and work the program before it's too late.
Easier to fix now rather than later.
It will get worse before it gets better. Help him now or visit him in jail later

First, you can see if there is something physically wrong with him..... see a doctor.
Assuming that there is nothing the matter with him, has he always not done his home work?
Is this new?
What have you done in the past? What has worked and what has not?
Sweetie, love to be able to help you, but this is too short a question.

He is just going to rebel more if you take away all his things. I know I would.
Give him his stuff back, but also you should create an incentive for him. Because whats going through his head is "whats the point of doing this work" So he needs something to work towards

Check out the book "Bright Minds, Poor Grades". They deal with how to work with underachieving kids to get them to do things like homework and other important stuff.

Maybe you should talk to his teachers and maybe even his doctor about his behavior cause there could be something underlying that is making him act this way? Counseling may help also, but you should really talk to him one and one and find out what's bothering him cause he could be having serious problems.

its kinda common. my son didnt either before. u should give him a consequence for not doing it that will make him want to do his school work. or tell him that he cant do anything else until he gets it done. it works for my kid.
