You didn't quote all the verse, as the LOVE of money is the root of all (kinds of) evil. Nobody can serve God and money.

Next, not all churches beg for money. Some members are so blessed that they graciously and voluntarily give quite a bit to the church. I grant you that there are some organizations which make it a point to beg for money--this has been going on for years and sadly doesn't show signs of stopping. I give to my church and to a few other groups of my choice but not because they beg. It's because I choose to donate.

As to your last question, yes, hypocrisy is a sin. No further comment necessary.

Let's first get the doctrine correct. It does not say that "money is the root of all evil" what it does say is that the "love of money is the root of all evil." There is nothing wrong with money. It is a form of energy just like electricity. It can be used for good or ill. What the scripture means is that if you love money more than you love doing what is right, then you will compromise your values to get it and therefore it leads you to evil.

There are some churches who capitalize on salvation, and it is both unfortunate and something that they will someday have to answer for as we all will be accountable for our actions. That said, many churches do a lot of good and they do that good by having the money to do so. I've known many churches who have visited the sick, comforted those in sorrowful times, sent missionaries to developing nations to bring hope and even more importantly food and medical supplies. Just about any church you could attend would be willing to talk about where the money goes, I'd suspect them if they weren't open to that.

I can tell you that there are good and bad people in every sector of life as we know it. One of my good friends would tell you that the Devil sends his very best, not to the street corners to find the lost, but in the church pews to tempt the faithful. It's best to look for and even seek out the good, surround yourself with it and do good yourself. You'd be amazed at how different the world will appear to you if you just did that one very simple thing.

Be blessed.

Money is not the root of all evil - the Bible states that the love of money is the root of all evil 1 Timothy 6:10. Hypocrisy is a sin - Christians are not sinless - we all make mistakes. Thats why we need Jesus.

that would desire to be the case for television evangelists, yet on the community parish point issues are rather diverse. i'm Catholic and in our Dioceses lots of the small city Parishes are last interior 5 years. those which at the instant are not last are suffering each and each month to pay the electrical powered bill and coverage. lots of the as quickly as paid positions which incorporate secretary at the instant are crammed by utilising area time workers who additionally donate a number of their time or are crammed by utilising volunteers. The economic equipment is particularly undesirable good now and it shows in the economic comments. There are churches desiring maintenance and the maintenance are being placed off. The mega churches do waste a good number of money on making themselves look quite, however the community parishes are extremely suffering now. do no longer throw a conventional blanket of money grubbing or intense lifestyles residing on all churches. The Catholic Church isn't the only denomination dealing with this subject the two. regrettably, many Parishes of many denominations are coping with this.

Hypocrisy is a sin...however, paying the bills isn't.
If the people want a building, with power, and water, and trimmed hedges, then they need to pay for it, don't you think?
If they don't care about the building, they needn't support it.
It really is that simple.
