it kinda makes me sick to my stomach to see the award banquet being held in Yankee land, but i know that 99% of the sponsers of nascar have corporate offices in New York., and we all know that this game is about sponsers, and lot's of bucks. and to be truthful, it is good in a way that it is held up there ( as i choke back tears), because they are on a lot of primetime shows, Regis and Kelly and i'm sure many others which promote the sport. New York does care about Nascar,
a 30 second spot as a t.v. commercial can cost hundreds of thousands for one spot, where in the world can you get the most bang for you advertising dollar for having a car going around for two to four hours showing on the side of a car
advertising Glabber Girl baking soda? i wish it was held in the heart of racin but the money talks, and that is what keeps this sport rolling.

There are plenty of Nascar fans in NYC that would disagree with you, but if it were going to get moved, only two places make sense, Charlotte or Daytona, with Daytona the preferred spot. NYC is used because of the proximity to marketing, advertising, and tv stations. In one week you can be on many popular tv shows like David Letterman, Regis and Kelly, etc. No other city can offer that. Besides, I doubt any other major city has the international pull that NYC offers. What happens in New York City gets publicity in every major country. Nascar is going to be international and tv exposure is the biggest help to make that happen.

I with Snake on this one, hey have it a day or two after the race in Miami, in sunny warm Florida. They already down there so just do the banquet after the race. Miami is a fun all night place just like NY, and personally I think its so much better than NYC..I've lived in both places, give me South Beach anytime over NYC...Snake, not to sure about T-bones place..But theres some great hotels and party places in Miami..I've heard it might go to Vegas hey thats fine to, great place to party.. For some reason, when you think NYC, you just do not think about Nascar..

I think it should be in Charlotte and I truly believe it will be when the Hall of Fame opens in 2009. Expect next year's banquet (08) to be the last in NYC.

I'd like to see ot in Daytona or Charlotte. But with the "Wallstreet" influence on the NASCAR family looks like New York is the best place.

it would be bad if NYC lost this but, i would like to see LA or Las Vegas get the award banquets. why, because unlike New York City, LA and Las Vegas both has race Tracks in the areas that NASCAR's main three series race on. so it should be LA or Las Vegas.
