Relax, nobody is going anywhere.

However you make a good hypothetical point. Now let me question whether anybody capable of such a loving act as sacrificing themselves to save others could actually be condemned to Hell.
If only one person thought like that then Hell would have to be empty.
Oh, I am sure in that case there must be a Catch-22 inserted into the Hell/Heaven rules, but until we are informed of what it is your question shows that Hell would have to be empty and would always remain so.

Well assuming that heaven exists, I would rather go to heaven and send the 1000 people to hell.

That's a trick question.

If I say have 1000 go to hell for me, Is that not evil. If I say I will go to hell for a 1000 people, is that not Christlike?

That's why the cross is so awesome. He did it for us.

Be more specific. 1000 Nazis? or 1000 regular everyday people. That would make a difference.I ain't going to Hell for 1000 Al Quaida bastards. For others though ,I may throw myself on God's mercy.
Paul said he would go to Hell if it would save Israel . That is one awesome dude!

Depends on the people.

If the 1000 people are criminals, then let them go to hell for all I care.

But if they're nice people, then I'd rather have them in heaven and me in hell.

Oddly enough, that was one thing the Apostle Paul said he was willing to do for his countrymen, the nation of Israel. See Romans 9:1-5.

But that can't happen. I couldn't give my life for anyone's salvation, nor could anyone else give theirs for me. It is only through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Whoever chooses Heaven is obviously greedy.

Isn't greed a "sin" according to the Bible?
