I have a 2 year old--he's great. Love 'im to death. We're going to start potty training in a month, so right now he's still in diapers.
A few weeks ago, he started to take his clothes off between the time when we read books to him and when he goes to sleep. We've now woken up about 5 times to him naked and the bed drenched.
We thought that it was the diaper--nope. Not too tight. We even tried 2-3 different kinds of diapers.
We thought it was too hot--nope, it's pretty dang chilly.
We really have no idea. The diapers aren't even full when he takes them off.
Any ideas? We have started to check on him every 30 minutes or so to catch him before it goes too far, but thus far it hasn't stopped him from taking off his clothes.
He's obviously exhausted and does this on days when we're busy and days when we're lazy. I'm clueless.

my daughter did this, but it wasn't because she wanted to be potty trained. she learned how to unzip zippers and was fascinated by this. so when she'd wake up in the morning she'd unzip her p.js and take them off. then her pull up was easy to rip off, so she did it. we put her in p.j.s that have no zipper and have not had any problems like that. she can't get these p.j.'s off! :)

Okay, you are really missing the mark here. He really should be potty training. He doesn't like wet diapers. You also need to stop giving him so much to drink before bed. He should not be wetting the bed so many times during the night. Cut him off a couple of hours before bed. At least a small sip will be okay if he is thirsty.
Create a reward sticker chart. Each morning when he wakes up he gets to put a sticker on the chart if he kept his clothes on all night. At the end of the week, he gets a little prize. If he takes his clothes off, just tell him that he needs to keep his clothes on. Get him dressed and remind him of the reward chart. Give him a couple of chances to get used to it, to break him in.
We also did the reward chart for my daughter's potty training. Each time she went pee pee in the potty, she got to put a sticker on the chart. She loved filling it up with stickers.
I wouldn't duck tape his pajamas closed, like some of the others mentioned. It's just not safe. But, putting zippered PJs on backwards is a suggestion I have heard, and it is a safe option as well. Not wearing pajamas in winter, really is also not a good idea. His little body needs to stay warm.

I never, ever use Oxy-sparkling...it extremely is going to slowly fade outfits such as you does no longer have faith. placed funds into good high quality detergent, like Tide...I particularly have tried to flow extra fee-effective and that i as we talk observe a distinction in my clothing. i take advantage of much lower priced detergent for towels, Tide for garments. Borax while they are extremely grimy....some million/2 cup consistent with load. it extremely is an previous product yet you will come across it at Walmart...it extremely is a laundry booster, won't fade clothing and that i've got not got any thought of ways it works (because of the fact it has no scent) yet I swear the clothing pop out smelling 10x extra powerful than they do with detergent on my own

Does he take his clothes off because he is wet? If so, have him go potty right after his story. If he just takes them off and then wets the bed, put a plastic cover on his bed to protect his mattress. Dress him in footy pajamas (the one piece ones with the little feet) that zip or button so he cannot get him off himself (he probably isn't that coordinated yet). Good luck with the potty training!

Try buying one or two well made cloth diapers (the velcro kind) and give that a shot. Plastic doesn't have to be hot to make the skin irritable.

My toddler does this as soon as we get home she strips off everything but her diaper. She even tries to do this at the store. I just hope she grows out of it. I have to keep onesies on her so she can't unbutton them.

Maybe you could put him in a zippered sleeper and put it on him backwards. I've also heard of people duct taping the diaper on (no joke).

my sons sleep naked. They've never like pj's. So I say less laundry. And my daughter I electric tape the diapers on her to keep them on day and night.
