Cooked chicken bones can splinter..
I do give my cats raw chicken bones and they chew them right up.. They're a lot more chewy and won't splinter if they haven't been cooked..
You should still supervise any bone chewing though to make sure they don't swallow too big of a piece.. Though, most of the time mine just gnaw off tiny pieces..

Okay, lets clear this furphy up once and for all. I am a raw feeder, have been for well over twelve years.

Cats can and do eat raw chicken bones as long as the ratio of meat to bone is 60% to 40%. I personally recommend wings as the bones are a good texture for the cats and have enough meat on them. My cats also love chicken necks. While my cats do like legs, the bones are a bit thick for them.

Meaty bones are essential for dental health considering that a high percentage of domestic cats these days have dental disease.

And just think, cats naturally kill birds of all sizes! I just give my indoor cats the opportunity to be big brave hunters without harming the wildlife!

To clear up the controversy in your mind try to visualise a wild cat (big or small) cooking its mouse or whatever over a fire. You have never seen that nor ever will.

Cats eat RAW bones from their prey and have over the millions of years of their evolution right down until modern times. The raw bones are soft and do not splinter and they are an important source of calcium for the cat to balance the lean muscle meat of their prey.

The bones in your KFC are NOT safe for your dog or cat to eat.

Cat's CANNOT eat chicken bones! They splinter and since a cat's throat is smaller than a dog's it's even more dangerous!

Cats cannot eat chicken bones. The chicken bones will do the same thing to the cat as they do to dogs.

Do Not give your cat chicken bones, it could get caught in his throat and he can choke. Also it CAN splinter and cause internal bleeding!

what kind of dog do you have? you mite need to get your hands "dirty" to help pass the bone. My friends Aussie at a chicken bone and when he passed it, yeah it was disgusting. Most likely the dog will be fine, but make sure the dog goes #2. The bone could clog his passage's and thats when things get hairy. Just keep an eye on the dog for the next 24 hours, you'll know when he's passing the bone.

Chicken bones are a no no! They can cause serious digestive issues all along from the mouth to the end! Please avoid giving your cat even the smallest bones.

Yes...you shouldn't give cats turkey or chicken bones because they are too brittle and may break and become lodged someplace within the poor kitty. Ouch!
