"4 real you're only 16, but I enjoy talking to you." He is older than me and this was in response to when I mentioned that his mom thinks I like him. It seemed to me that he liked me too until he said that. Now I don't think that he does in that way. We have been friends for a really long time so if he doesn't like me he could just say it straight up. He has known since the day we met (13 years ago) the differences in our ages. He knows that I am 16. He is 19. I wasn't even hitting on him either....I was just telling him what someone said. I told him that it doesn't mean I never could like him but just that it takes time and she was wrong about it right now. I do like him but I wasn't hitting on him when this happened. I know he is too old for me. At least that is the way he came off towards me. He is sweet to me. He calls me baby girl, pretty lady, lovely lady, etc. He has told me a couple times that I look beautiful. Does this mean that the only problem is age? That he could like me?

He was being polite and saying the right things to make a girl feel good.

3 years is a bit much at your age BUT in a few years time it will not be a big difference especially as you have known each other so long --- i would suggest he is being careful to keep the relationship platontic at this point but that may change as you get older --- thats about the best i can suggest at the moment --- your age is really the determining factor ---- best wishes
