Winter is a great time to visit Catalina because rooms are less expensive, the crowds are gone (except for Tues & Wed when the cruise ships are in port), and the locals are more laid back. The winter weather here can be very unpredictable, so don't plan too far out in advance as you run the risk of getting stuck here on a stormy day. Instead, check the updates for the weekend and book your trip a few days in advance. Expect the temperature to be cooler than in Los Angeles, but pleasant. Nights will be cold. The water will be too cold for the kids to swim in, but it is not unusual to see families on the harbor beach playing in the sand. Don't forget to visit the mini-golf course in town while you are here!

weather is unpredicable here as with anyplace. right now we expect rain next week. If no rain, Catalina should be fun. Chilly, but nice.

It will be cool but normally it's pretty nice over here. Leave the bathing suits at home and prepare to go on the overland bus tour. The kids will love seeing the buffalo.
