Rammy,older Explorers had a 5.0 V8 in them. To the question,yes a V6 Mustang will usually beat a V8 explorer.

There should be 2 small screws keeping your exhaust in place, right at the end.
Remove one of these, you're going to create a boy racer noise. Quite a few people do this.

cheapest think is to change the intake. ull get more of the vaccumed influx sound but itll sound more "meaty" otherwise you go with a full header/cat/exhaust system, dont invest into just the exhaust i tried that with my first car when i was 17, it fell off after 2 yrs lolz. while i was driving.

if you are ambitious you can do it yourself just put a couple of glass packs on it.. if you just have one exhaust pipe then put one on it.. take the old muffler off and put the new one on.. it is not that hard.. check with the local automotive parts store.. they should be of good help to you.. good luck

No matter what you do it's still going to sound like a six cylinder. Should of bought a v8.

um exhaust is about 250,for installation in most places. idk if u can afford it since its ur first car,but if u got one u should look into flowmaster they have great exhaust systems that sound mean. i mean u will b roarin in that thing haha. maybe put a intake if they have one for that car.
