I have been friends with this guy since I was 14 and he was about 16 or 17. Our friendship of course was online, through distance. As the years went on and we grew up we continued to talk. We became close. Sharing dreams, goals, hopes, experiences, definitely relationship problems. When ever we were single there was always a flirtation between us. But never anything serious.

Here we are now 20 and 23. We've lived decent lives with interesting stories to tell. We're a bit more grown up and mature. Still going through with the struggles of life.

Recently I was talking to him online. He has a difficult day with his job and school so days are stressful for him. When talking out of no where he says he wants me to come visit and soon. All the years weve known each other we have yet to meet. I was excited because Id love to meet him finally.

Since then hes talked about just running away together, livinging happily ever after. Even said 'I want to love you' at a random moment.

We were just talking about relationships and life at the time he said that. Im not sure where its all coming from. Or what it all means.

What could be this sudden change?

Im not punishing him, nor have I run away from him. I found it completely flattering that he could feel this way towards me. He is on my mind often and Im just scared that maybe this is just a 'random' thing and I need to know before I put too much of my heart and feelings into it. Thats all

It may be a change for you, but something that he has been thinking of for a long time. He likes you . . .you are his friend . . . he is comfortable talking to you. Why wouldn't he want you as his girlfriend? Seems like a natural progression to me.

As far as running away, that's just a fantasy. Bring him back to reality. Be a good friend. Tell him how you feel about this new found attraction, but don't punish him because he finds you desirable.

Sweetheart, the guy has known you for years even though he's never met you. I'll make a long story short, he's in love with you.

well it could be one of his friends playing a joke or he just had a bad day and said stuff he didn't mean to. You should talk to him and give him another chance
