my tv does not have color ports that work right so for my ps2 i use an RF adapter (a jack that plugs in your tv) will it work for ps3.

The RF adapter for the PS2 will work with the PS3 and a PS3 can be played on a Standard Resolution T.V.

I feel your pain! Although with the proper adapter you will be able to use a PS3 with your TV, you will have NOWHERE NEAR the image quality the system is capable of. But it certain situations you gotta do whatcha gotta do.
You may want to consider buying a used TV from sites that I'm not sure I'm supposed to mention to cure your woes.
Obviously they rhyme with Geeway and Eggs Frist. :)

People are dumping CRT TV's by the thousands to make room for LCD's and Plazmas. You can easily buy a 32" CRT with component inputs for under $200.
Consider it a Christmas present to yourself!
