yes, they do. men tend to show their feelings physically than emotionally. instead of telling you things will be OK, they would much rather kiss you or hug you after a fight than sit and talk it out. it definitely has something to do with society making them the stronger sex, so they are probably embarrassed or feel that it is wrong to sit and talk things out or cry.

Men are taught from birth not to express feelings. This is by their parents and by their peers. Then women whinge because men will not say anything.

When the wolf is at the door and the lock is breaking, that is no time for a display of male emotions.

If men were completely honest, they would tell some woman who asks questions like these "You are irritating me. You will stop it if you have any sense."

Another fact is that frequently men have little in the way of feelings at a particular time. What affects some women often hardly bothers men at all. One thing that men have learned, it is not to say "I don't care" because they know damn well they'd be in serious trouble for admitting it.

Example - I doubt that many men gave more than a passing regret about the death of Diana Spencer ten years ago. But heaven help them if they admitted it. So best to mumble something and either get out of the room for a while or change the subject.

Ooh, I just learned about this in psychology a couple days ago. Too bad I forgot what the two theories are called.

The point of one of the theories is because men in today's society generally do not consider it "cool" to express their feelings. Think about it. If a guy randomly started crying at school because he was having a bad day, how do you think his friends would react? Obviously much different than how a girl's friends would react in the same situation. So because of this, men have just learned over their lifetimes how to suppress their emotions.

The other theory has a much more biological, evolutionary approach. Over the history of human existance, men have generally had the more "emotionally hardening" jobs while the women stayed at home. Even in the time of cavemen, men were the ones shooting the wooly mammoth, which is not usually for the faint of heart. And for a very long time period, men were the only ones going to war and shooting at people. Again, if you're sensitive to disturbing things like that, you're not going to be a very good soldier. So basically, evolution took its course and selected the less-sensitive men to reproduce.

Some people believe in either theory or the other. Personally, I think that they both seem to have some truth to them.

yes of course we have a harder time expressing our feelings. This is because the guy's around will start to make fun of us and whatnot, its just the way things go. Once we get to know a girl though we might open up though. the shy guys are the one's that are hard to open up though cuz they arent very talkative or rather we aren't very talkative.

A lot of it is what we call socialization. (I am female; I was barely taught this myself, but I certainly did not know how to give my son much teaching on it, and that was depsite my BA Psych, therapy, and compassion!)
Of course, there are those sociobiologists who would tell you that men were made to go out and hunt, being quiet, in the face of fear as well as the horrific acts they were to commit,
while women are meant to stay and tend the fire, gather berries, and raise children.
Who knows?

Evolution. We dont care as much. We werent meant to be care the children or family long term so we dont develop emotional ties as strongly. We feel less than women. Its a proven fact, its all about brain chemistry and to a lesser degree, what society and family teaches us.

Generally, yes they do. Feelings are easier for a female to express, in my opinion, because felmales tend to respond and act more on their "feelings", where men tend to be a more "logical" breed. By nature.

Men tend to show that they are tougher by hiding their emotions. Especially when they are sad, and depressed. It's just how most men have come to think of what a man should be. Yet, I don't think that may be right...

yes becuz if the girl don't like the guy that expressed his feelings, the girl doesn't mind, or she laughs or something, but if its all the way around, the guy doesn't say anything if he don't like her, cuz shes a girl, the guy don't want to hurt the girls feelings
