It worries me that there are people out there who think that God dictating moral laws is the only reason for people to avoid antisocial behaviour. I guess if "because God says so" is the only moral reasoning some people understand, that explains why some can be led to do horrible things in the name of God.

And to answer the question, no, statistics say there are very few atheists in prison. (Though I'm not sure if there are good studies about people's religious beliefs at the time they committed the crimes that landed them in prison.)

That's silly, noone goes to prison for for not obeying God's laws, they went to prison for not obeying Man's Laws. It's called Religious Freedom... what are you thinkin'?!?

That doesn't make sense. We put people in jail for disobeying the laws created by the legislature. If atheists obey man's law better, then there should be less atheists than theists in prison (and there is).

Go check the numbers. Atheists are astoundingly under represented in the prison system.

Actually, there are FEWER atheists in prison. What does that say about your imaginary god's laws?

Statistics show that atheists make up a very tiny fraction (much less than 1%) of the prison population. Almost all are avowed Christians raised in the faith.

Statistics show that the atheist population in prisons is dwarfed in comparison to the Christian population.

LULZ...are you f&king kidding me? If i had a dime for the report of another prisoner "finding Jesus" (usually just to get out and commit the same atrocities again), I'd be RICH.

Where did you happen upon such an inaccurate statistic? I think it is something like 0.2% of the prison population is atheist or agnostic.
