The very first thing my cat wants in the morning is fresh water! She drinks quite a bit. Some cats don't drink enough so it is good that you cat does drink but if you are concerned take her to the Vet. Sometimes excessive thirst is a sign of diabetes.

Cats should hardly be drinking water at all. Your cat may have diabetes. Please go to the opharmacy and get some diastic reagent strips to check the urine and see if sugar is spilling in which would be a sign of it. Please contact me if this is the case
Also, you should not be feeding dry foods which dehydrates cats
Nutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your cat’s health
Contrary to what you may have heard; dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.
Please read the label on what you are feeding? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingrdiant a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things?
http://www.catinfo.org/#Learn_How_To_Read_a_Pet_Food_Ingredient_Label
Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u.t.i’s and a host of other problems. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods. Rashes, scabs behind the tail and on the chin are all symptoms
The problems associated with Dry food is that they are loaded with carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process them. Also, Most of the moisture a cat needs is suppose to be in the food but in
Dry, 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Another thing, most use horrible ingredients and don't use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.
You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn't have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all. Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Does a hard pretzel clean your teeth or do pieces of it get stuck? http://www.felinefuture.com/nutrition/bpo_ch4a.php
Please read about cat nutrition.

Cats do drink water each animal drinks water to stay healthful the ingredient with cats is they have an particularly low thirst indicator of their bodys a number of them can't tell while they'd desire to drink consequently you will desire to feed your cat gentle nutrition besides as dry nutrition because of the fact the canned gentle nutrition has a intense water content cloth which supplies water to cats that don't drink plenty water milk isn't good for cats despite the fact which you would be able to by utilising particular cat milk at walmart

my cats drink anything they can get their faces into. my cats even drink my juice out of my cup. they drink out of the toilet sinks...they will sit up on the lege of the bathtub while im showering and lick the water off of the shower cutian. when i am doing the dishes any splashes that get on the floor they lick...the like milk too. i have acctually been concerned about how much my cats drink and pee...when i change the litter..almost half of the bottom is covered in wet pee litter... but i think if u find ur cat drinks alot maybe look at the salt content in their food. it will make them want to drink alot more. they are sooo cute..i am such a cat lover

My cat did the same thing, and I mentioned it to the vet. She had crystals in her urine. I would highly suggest getting you cat checked, because she could have the same thing or worse. Cats should only be drinking about a bowl of water or less a day. Anymore can be a sign of health problems like crystals or diabetes.

My cat barely drinks. I see her drink maybe 2 to 3 times a week, and only out of the sink.

I would have to ask how old your cat is. Hyperthyroidism and diabetes are common in older cats and cause increased thirst. Both need to be diagnosed and treated with medication. Sometimes older cats with kidney insufficiency will drink copious amounts of water.

It is probably normal but if you find yourself changing her water dish because its really empty each day get the kitty checked for Diabeties. Its easily controlled if it is that.
Good luck!
