No, just the opposite...I hate "cutesy" animal names. I'm not a cutesy person. My dogs are Zeb & Esther (named after the grandparents on The Waltons). My house cats are Larry & Lucy. Barn cats are Albert, Morris, Fred, Bob, Carl, Clarence and Fluffy. The husband named Fluffy, I named everyone else.

No. I only give pets human names. I feel silly calling animals Fluffy or Mr Snuggles or something - it seems so infantile.

I pick the names by giving them the name of a famous person who has a birthday on the day I buy or acquire the animal.

I think it's a fun system!

My dog's name is Princess Margaret Rose - Maggie for short.

I personally think it all depends on the dog, but for the most part, I think it's hillarious. A friend of mine has a pug, and he named it Harold. I went round there once for a meal and he had the dog on a tall chair at the table with us in a little baseball cap and a turtleneck eating from his bowl. My friend would say, "come on, eat up harold, it's nearly time for desert", and I would just crack up.
That's my opinion anyway. Just think it's funny.

It has been said , that people who name their dogs human names actually are more humane with their animals than those who call their dogs "doggy names"

I like "human" names used for animals better than "fluffy" or "spot"...
