The purpose of the Vatican is to oversee the affairs of the Roman Catholic Church -- that should be simple enough. And, since religious issues often intertwine with political issues, the church does take a stand on certain things that involve how people's lives are lived.

People believe in this organization because of its sound theological doctrine, dogma, and of course its history and claims to be the one true church. If the Vatican is that corrupt, and not blessed by God, then shouldn't it have failed a very long time ago?

Yes, the Church Jesus founded is an actual human organization. There are leaders who hold offices (bishops, priests, and deacons, just as in Bible days), and membership requirements, such as baptism. There are doctrines, moral laws, and obligations. You can be excommunicated, just as in the New Testament Church (Acts 8:18-23).

The CEO of the Church was originally Peter, who Jesus authorized to make binding decisions (Matt 16:18). This included decisions to appoint new bishops, first exercised in Acts 1, when Matthias was chosen to replace Judas.

From time to time, the men who lead the Church have been corrupt. However, the doctrines of the Church have never changed, and as Jesus promised, the gates of hell have never prevailed against the Church. It is the oldest continuous organization in history.

I love to post this list of Catholic leaders demonstrating apostolic succession. No Protestant has yet been able to replicate it with a parallel list going back to the original apostles:

Baptism is the original born again experience. Unless you are baptised and partake of the eucharist you will not have life within you. Yes the church is a corporate organization and jesus made it that way. Giving to Ceasar what is Ceasar's and God's what is God's has alot of political implications that the church cannot ignore. The church is holy because its founder, Jesus, is Holy. It is human because the Mystical Body of Christ -the Catholic Church-is made up of people.

The Catholic Church is almost someone who became into latest on the edge of Our Blessed Lord while He walked and talked in Galilee and Judea. Our Lord based a Church (Matthew sixteen:18-19), which became into to be the pillar and floor of fact (a million Timothy 3:15). we are able to understand what this Church teaches by making use of finding no longer in basic terms at Sacred Scripture, yet into heritage and by making use of examining what the earliest Christians have written, what people who've sat on the Chair of Peter have spoken continuously with Scripture and custom, and what they have solemnly defined.

Not necessarily. The church which Yeschua authorized was never supposed to be an organization, but rather a family with leaders, roles, and characteristics which identified memebers of His family. Over time, people have changed the structure, understanding, and meanings of His teachings in order to fashion them into what they desired and how they desired things to be. Whether it be the Roman Catholic Church, Protestant, or even Messianic, the question which needs to be asked is, "This what the Scriptures teach through example or command?"

well the church was established by jesus and he promised his church the protection and guidance of the holy spirit until the end of time, not even the gates of the netherworld would or will prevail upon it. there is leadership and there is requirements. the book that the church gave us, the roman catholic church, is quite clear on this matter, others may recognize the book as the BIBLE.

Jack, I applaud your attempts to educate and inform people about Catholicism. Unfortunately, as you can see from the answers you're getting, there are those who prefer to believe the lies that they've been taught about the Church.

The Vatican has consistently pleaded for world peace whenever a new conflict has broken out. The Pope speaks out against those who have their own evil agenda for the unborn, the elderly, and those, like Terri Schiavo, who cannot protect themselves. Bishops and Cardinals throughout the world fight against irresponsible politicians who claim to be Catholic but whose decisions are against all that the Church teaches and believes.

If you will know them by their fruits, as Protestants are found of quoting, then the Vatican is a leader in promoting the teachings and ideals of our Savior Jesus Christ. I'd say that's pretty wholesome fruit.

Jack,
If satan were pushing Catholocism would it still exist today? That is another possibility. I do not believe that the Catholic church is CHRIST'S CHURCH mentioned in the BIBLE because they refuse to follow the BIBLE and choose to elect men to replace each pope and then add to their scriptural base with each new pope. I follow only the Bible as my guide. Have a great weekend.
Thanks,

Didn't read your whole post but you are wrong from the beginning. Jesus did not start any religion, nor did he authorize any religion.
