the worst chocolate for dogs is the dark, bitter baking chocolate. If a dog is going to get sick from chocolate it happens within a few hours.....usually stomach ache, diarrhea and hyperactivity. If it has been a few days, then your dog should be fine.

My dog on the first day we brought him home ate an entire box of chocolates and my brother and i were worried for a while. Nothing happened though and he never got sick which was really good. If it happened a couple days ago and nothings wrong, he will probably be OK like my dog was.

If he was going to have a reaction you would already know it.
Their kidneys shut down pretty quickly.
Most of the chocolate we have today is not actually chocolate or very Little chocolate. The one that is the real problem is the pure dark chocolate that hasn't had sugar and milk and was added to it.
And the dog has to eat quite a bit of it to be hurt.
Don't feed it to him, but a little is no problem.
I had a poodle once who was quite small and she was a chocoholic before I knew that chocolate was bad. She had no problems with MMs and with chocolate cake donuts. But I stopped letting her have them after I found out. She lived to be 17 years old.

He'll be fine. If he was going to have a reaction it would have happened within hours (or sooner) after he ate the chocolate. If the bars were milk chocolate they probably gave him a minor stomach ache at worst. Don't worry about it, just keep him away from dark or semi-sweet chocolate (and I wouldn't really recommend feeding him milk chocolate either).

Your dog should be fine. Something most likely have happened by know. Unless it was dark chocolate, if that is the case, take him to the vet IMMEDIATELY!

If they were hershey type bars with almonds, those are mostly milk, emulsifiers, sugar, etc.
There is very little pure chocolate in them.
The dangerous chocolate is bakers chocolate, pure cocoa, etc.

my dogs have eaten chocolate before too. its really not that bad. its the theobromine in chocolate thats bad for them. The amount of chocolate that will harm your dog will vary depending on the size, age, health of your dog, and the type of chocolate. .

as long as it wasn't dark chocolate, he will be fine. my grandmother's dog ate half of a chocolate cake before, and he's 16 years old and better than ever.

If he hasn't had problems yet, then he probably won't have problems.
This question really should have been addressed by a vet 2 days ago. . .
Any kind of chocolate is toxic, so please, be more careful and if it happens again, get on the phone with your vet.
