I think we might have to think here about long in the future, I don't suppose Henry the Eighth could have envisioned moon walks. One day a flake of leftover DNA, a memory catcher... things we can't even imagine yet...

What do you base that we are "the best there is" on? I've watched enough zombie movies to know that resurrecting the dead is not a good idea.

to assume that we are the only sentient life forms in the universe, and the pinnacle of evolution would be a mistake in my opinion. Assumption is the mother of all @#%^ ups

We are not "the best" or the "worst." We simply are. And as for resurrection, the chances of that depend on the cause of death, the condition of the body, the state of storage, etc.

In other words, it depends....
