First, you have to realize that you are a sinner and that no matter what you do, you will always fall short of God's standard.
Second, repent of your sin and stop making sin as your way of life; it is obviously impossible to stop sinning since we still live in this world but you have got to stop knowingly continue to sin/disobey His commandment.
Third, is to simply believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, He died for you on the cross for your sins and that it is by His grace and not work that you are saved.

You do not work to be saved but you work because you are saved. A good tree should produce good fruit.

Believe on the lord Jesus Christ with all your heart, study His word, follow His word, speak to sinners about their souls, don't use anyone in a bad way, tell th truth, help when you can, protect the little children and the elderly.LOVE LOVE LOVE If your enemy is thirsty give him a drink.Pray for your enemies and you will heap hot coals on his head. In other words do the best you can and when you stumble ask forgiveness. Non of us can do it all without some screw ups along the way. Ask for God's help and when you sin, ask and He will forgive you. Really not as hard as it sounds.Just remember we are still human and can't be perfect as Jesus was. Just try and pray, you'll do well.

If you have fulfilled the requirements which Jesus gave to become a Christian, then now you simply need to be faithful until death. It truly saddens me to see some of the other responses. God Bless

Jesus came and lived a perfect life in your stead. He died on the cross for your sins, and when He had completed our salvation, He said, "It is finished." Our salvation was compete at that moment. There is nothing we can add, and in fact, to attempt to do so is to call Jesus a liar and to commit blasphemy, because it is God's responsibility to save us from our sins.

Our good works are a RESULT of our salvation and do not contribute to it in any way. Our good works are committed when the Holy Spirit works through us.

Accept Jesus wholeheartedly as your Saviour, and you will go to heaven. As Martin Luther explained it, the sole source of information about salvation is the Bible. Sola scriptura: the scriptures alone. Salvation is a free gift, of grace, or unmerited favor from God. Sola gratia: grace alone. Salvation is received through faith alone: sola fides.

This series of verses explains it all. It is known as the Romans Road.

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Romans 5:12

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6

But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Romans 1:4

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more, death hath no more dominion over him. Romans 6:9

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord! Romans 8:38-39

You need to know that Christ is your Savior. You also need to know that it is more than just that. If I state out loud and profess Christ as my Savior, then go out and murder someone, I know that your "saving" might just be in jeopardy. I know that Christ has taught us to do his will, and keep his commandments, and that we will be judged for that.

So, it is to believe in Christ and to keep his commandments.

Nothing you can DO to go to heaven. Heaven isn't a place you earn, it is given to those who accept the gift of salvation from God with gratefulness and humility.
