I was born atheist just like everyone else, had Muslim upbringing, was a practising Muslim later on and here I am today - a confirmed atheist.

Have a great weekend! :)

EDIT: Since you're a Muslim - Eid Mubarak in advance.

You can't really "convert" because it's not a religion. But, to answer your question, I came to realize that god doesn't exist when I was very young. Probably around the same time I stopped believing in Santa Claus. They are almost the same story. Be good or you won't get your reward (heaven, presents under the tree) from this all knowing, all seeing being (god, Santa Claus). If you're bad you'll be punished with something that has to do with fire and burning (hell, coal in the stocking). There are "miracles" and "magic" involved (water to wine, Santa fitting down the chimney and being able to hit every house in the world in one night, walking on water, and flying reindeer). It's a progressive process wherein you come to a realization gradually, rather than having an epiphany of sorts. It came from being educated. Statistics show a direct correspondence between high levels of education and lack of a belief in a god.

We are all born Atheists. However i went to a Christians primary school and was taught Christianity as a fact so i believe that it was briefly until i became agnostic. I quickly changed to Atheism because i really cannot understand the belief in God. I realize this is hard for Christians to understand as Atheism must be as foreign to you as God is to me, i just can't picture there being a god. If i could choose what to believe i would be a theist but i can't.

I don't have anything against belief, i only dislike the organizations that think they can sell salvation and Valhalla.

Like everyone else who was ever born, I was born an agnostic. I started studying science at an early age, and it did not take long to see that the biblical tales could not be reconciled with science, and since science is obviously correct (it works!), the bible had to go. I have subsequently sought evidence for the existence of any sort of god, and have never found any. See:

I was born an atheist, raised christian, then became an atheist due to a gradual process of examining every religion I could get information about.

I was raised in a Christian family, but I never really bought it. I believed as I was instructed to as a small child, but by the time my age hit double digits I realized that Christianity and theism in general made no sense to me. Technically, I classify myself as an agnostic-atheist, which means that I think God is either unknowable or nonexistent. Either way, worship, prayer and other such appeals to God are useless, so I practically live and think atheistically.

I was a christian until I was 12 and then I was a wiccan and quickly discovered it was f***in stupid.

And then when I was 15 I became an atheist, after age 16 it was with a spike of satanism.

well i was born into a very christian family and raise as a Christian. I was about 16 when I stopped believing that there was a god. I think its kinda like santa were as soon as you notice that people are really involved in creating an illusion rather than there really being something out there, you stop believing.
