I have a baby boy due in April and plan to take him along the fallowing hunting season. What is the best way to protect his ears from the sound of my rifle?

Quit whining its not like I'm going to take him on a week long hunting trip. there is nothing wrong with taking him along on a hour or two walk in a jogging stroller on some logging roads.
If its hunting season I will have my gun and shoot a deer if the porotunity arrises. I dont care if you think this is a bad idea. So if you do please dont answer. If you have info on good ear protection, thank you

Those things that Liv Tyler puts on her son when they go to see her father perform. I've also seen them on Gwyneth Paltrow's son at Coldplay concerts.

Best Baby Ear Protection

Sorry, I would never recommend taking baby on a hunting trip. Aside from the hardship, the bug problem etc, it is just plain dangerous to the baby, and not conductive to a safe and enjoyable hunt. If the ear protection moves or the baby pulls it loose, you can permanantly destroy the baby's hearing. Babes are not going to be quiet, and need constant care. again, not conductive to hunting. Trying to put ear plugs into a babes ears can cause permenant damage to the soft cartilage of the ear, as well as damaging the eardrum.
Hey, I'm a lifelong hunter, so I'm not putting that part down, but I am also a father of 3 kids who all learned to hunt, and spent many many hours in the woods with dad. Do the right thing, leave the child home till older.

Nix on that idea unless you plan to have a nanny along with you. The babies hearing is only part of the problem. Babies need to be kept at a certain temperature. Something that is very difficult to do in the tent or field. Also baby hygiene is important and difficult to do in the field. Wait till the little tike grows up and then enjoy your time in the field with it.
