I put the stand together following the directions, but the directions do not really show how to actually raise it up on the tree other than saying I need 2-3 people.

I would really like to hear from someone who has put ip a ladder stand successfully.

Thanks

You are not stupid and you don't need to take backhoe thru the woods. Answer #3 is perfect. It is large and heavy and that's why help is recommended. The base of the ladder should be a couple feet from the bottom of the tree and then tilt it up and against the tree. Somebody holding it while it is secured higher up is preferred for safety. I always suggest a safety harness because I read about somebody falling out and dieing every year.

assemble the ladder, then lay the bottom of it against the tree run a long cord from each of the top two corners and string them along both sides of the tree. Have one person pull each rope from back behind the tree until the ladder is against the tree firmly. Have them maintain pulling while you ascend to each section and attach the brace to secure it to the tree. Simple.

If you don't know how to put a ladder in the tree's you really shouldn't have a gun to begin with. This is why people die, from stupid people with guns.
They only tell you to have 2 or 3 people because it's heavy, the rest...is common knowledge, THIS is why its not in the instructions.

I always put up my deer stands with a backhoe. just lean it against a tree securely and have someone hold the bottom. climb to the top and secure it around the tree with chain or a strong rope.
