ok so i'm really into fashion and stuff. Well my mom is re doing the living room, new rug new furniture ect. My mom is not that into fashion so she wants to get stuff that doesn't match. I don't like to have friends over because our living room is SO ugly we have like 4 different color wood things in the room. The couch doesn't match the chairs, we have the ugliest china hutch in the world! I don't know how to convince her to get things that look good together and not something that looks terrible togther. I asked her to try and find a new china hutch and she was like " well i know it's ugly but i don't know if i'll find something that i like more" I really want the living room to look nice please help!

If I were you, I would watch some shows on HGTV that have designing tips. Maybe mom will be in the room and take notice of what some of the latest trends are. You can take an old piece of furniture, and repaint it to make it look totally different. You can also go to a thrift shop and buy things very cheap.

Accept that your mom might have other priorities. We all have eccentricities. Just appreciate that she has other really good qualities and enjoy her hospitality while you are living there. Be patient, helpful, loving and supportive in the meantime. You are so lucky your mom is still living.
Concentrate on your own room and know that when you eventually set up housekeeping in your own home it can be different.

get a job buy the new stuff your self,
put a sign up telling your friends to stay away cause your house is ugly, Move out . get real its your moms likes not yours,

It is your Mom's house, so I would suggest you let her do what she wants with it and you concentrate on your own room.
