If voters don't have a saying on this, why is it?

How can something of this magnitude (where $1Billion is concerned) be legal without voter participation????

Please, explain this to me.

Because we have a representative democracy, not a direct democracy. Voters do not vote on everything that happens, their representatives do. it looks like there was a public comment period before the project started.

In a republic, the voters have a say on election day. If you want to vote on every issue, move to a democracy.

This is an indirect democracy. That means people are elected to make decisions for us. You have a say by wether you vote for this person or not. I agree with you though you should have some sort of referendum but that's not the way it works...

Your "say" in this is to not vote for the same politician who created the boondoggle. It's amazing how many voters cannot grasp this concept.

Constituents must be informed of the project in Miami because the money that will be spent comes from the taxes that they paid.
