Also, do your Christmas ornaments have any personal meanings to you or are they just pretty? My tree topper is a teddy bear holdijng his Santa teddy, wearing an oldfashioned stocking cap. I bought it from my oldest neice when she was in High school as a Cheerleader fund raiser. My ornaments are hodge podge. Made by my sons, bought by my sons, or bought to commemorate each year. Also a small green bell made entirely out of beads by my mother. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas or if you prefer a Happy Holidays!

Well I'm forced to take the tree down, because the only thing at the top of it is my cat! She's such a brat!

I have a lighted star on the top of my tree. The decorations are new because I wasn't able to dig in the (over full basement) for my older, more meningful ones. The tree is only 4 feet tall so I only got a few. I'll give it away after Christmas. But, for now it's pretty and the grandkids like it. I have a nativity set with the baby Jesus, the animals, kings, Mary, and Joesph and angels. My house is full of Christian things all year long so I don't have to do too much for the Christian and most important part of the season. I know the reason for the season and I celebrate all year long for that. I too wish everyone a very Merry Christmas or if you get offended---------Happy Holidays

(((((debra)))))
My tree is an ecclectic mix of handmade ornaments and storebought that I have collected over the years.
I have everything from egg carton bells to blown glass ornaments to antique pieces. I intend to put pictures on my blog very shortly.

As for the topper.... about 30 years ago when I was in college and away from home for the first Christmas ever - I longed for my own tree, and so I went to a tree farm with my brother and his wife and chopped my very own "1st Christmas" tree. I don't even remember what I used for a stand.....
anyway - i put ornaments on it that I made with styrophome and sequins, and some cheap glass balls I bought, but I had no topper. So I gathered some stuff together and made a little angel out of a toilet paper tube and some satin. She had a nylon sculpted face stuffed with cotton.

30 years later - we still use that topper. She looks alittle tired, but she is still radient on top of our Christmas tree - and even though I purchased a beautiful gold filigree starr a few years ago - I have never used it because my kids wouldn't hear of not using the Christmas Angel on top of the tree....

We also put a little family of 5 teddies in the branches of the tree.... each representing a member of our family. That started with a little bear my husband bought me the Christmas before we were married, and we added one for me, then each year a child was born.

blessings to all :)))

My parents tree has an Angel; and is decorated with ornaments from over 48 years from various times of our lives. (Actually Mom decides which are on or off.)
When I had a family, the tree we started had an Angel, and family significant ornaments - which I kept after she left. My son made a few. (She has the tree, and lights, etc.) I still but the Peanut Hallmark ornaments.
Peace.

My tree has a welded wire star and my husband spend nearly two hours wiring lights in it. My ornaments are a collection of ones that people have given me. My children made some when they were younger. Some where from my first mother in law and my ex husbands family (they kept me and ditched him). My new husband and I went shopping for new ornaments and he picked them out - did a great job. My sons now that they are older picked some nature scenes and those are theirs when the move out. And I have an ornament for my first Grandson. MERRY CHRISTMAS is the prefered for me.

Hey, your topper sounds like what's topping our tree! It's a small tree so the colored balls are small and the ornaments very tiny and are Yule toys - rocking horses, stockings, candy canes, stars, etc.

We get a new ornament each year and I get a new nutcracker. Haven't a clue why I like them - maybe it's that military thing coming out.

Cheers!
Happy Holidays!

We have a clear star that has colored lights on the inside at the tip of each projection. Its the only colored lights we have on our tree. The rest are white.

Several of our ornaments have been been passed down through our families, and a few of them have been made by the kids. We don't have a "theme" either.

I've just got the little red ribbons that came on my Yule tree (it's a potted pine in a 2 gallon container) on the top of my tree. I can't find my ornaments - I packed them away really well when my boyfriend and I got our loft this summer, and I haven't found them yet, *sob*.

Merry Christmas to you.

We have this bearded Father Christmas looking thing. It's kind of creepy. I'm not sentimental so I just think they're pretty. Not surprisingly, people gave us a lot of ornaments that are supposed to be sentimental. They're the ugliest ones. My favorites are the clear glass or metallic ones because obviously they reflect the lights the best.

I have an Angel at the top of my tree... my ornaments are really very similar to yours, bought to commemorate each year, and some are homemade.
