Depends on the person (tolerance, size, etc.) and the proof of the alcohol. There was a German guy just a few days ago that chugged a full liter of vodka at an airport (because regulations wouldn't let him carry that much liquid on the plane) and nearly died.

Varies widely per person. I have personally done fourteen shots in an hour and didn't die, although I wished I had.
