we're juniors in highschool. and we have second hour together. i really like him. we talk all the time and share a mutual hate of our teacher. one day he scooched really close to me during a lab and opened up to me about his family life. he told me all these personal things, and then said he never told anyone. he sits to the right of me, and whenever i walk into class he waves at me really cute and always asks what im listening to on my ipod. there are always these random days though where he wont say anything. and if im ever gone. the very next day he'll be gone.

I'm not sure of your question. I don't think you should worry about it if he doesn't talk to you 'all' the time. As much as you probably like it, it's not easy to converse continually. Enjoy the quiet times and you'll probably see you really do like each other. Don't start planning your wedding yet, not that you couldn't someday, just stay more to the present or you'll miss it.
I know your feelings will change by every second there's something different going on. Just stay open with him and enjoy talking. things will progress fine.
I would say he likes you though.
