Or other individual serving type bread that I can serve to guests?
I'm bored to death of anything "poppin' fresh dough".
There are so many recipes out there, so just wanted some favorites. Kind of easy to make as I'll be preparing a bunch of other stuff, too.
I'll be serving 6, but leftovers are fine :)
Thanks!

Cheese Biscuits
2 cups self-rising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup grated sharp Cheddar
1 cup buttermilk
Salt
1/4 stick butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, to taste, and sugar together using a fork; cut in shortening until it resembles cornmeal. Add cheese. Sir in buttermilk all at one time just until blended. Do not over stir. Drop by tablespoonfuls, or use an ice cream scoop, onto a well-greased baking sheet. Brush dough with melted butter. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

Herb Biscuits
INGREDIENTS:
1/3 cup butter
1 teaspoon prepared Dijon-style mustard
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
2 drops hot pepper sauce
1 (12 ounce) package refrigerated biscuit dough
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease a medium baking sheet. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and mix with Dijon-style mustard, rosemary, basil and hot pepper sauce. Dip biscuit dough piece by piece into the butter mixture, and arrange pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

I just use a simple scone/biscuit recipe and add grated cheese and/or herbs that I'm in the mood for. They are quick to put together and only take a few minutes to bake. The poppin fresh things are okay once in a while but you can't beat home made.

I use the bisquick recipe on the back of the box . and just add sharp cheddar cheese to the recipe and top with melted butter. Good luck and God bless.
