well at least few years. There's isn't an exact age when people have long term relationships. My first was @ 14 and lasted four years and the second @ 18 and half and three years into it so far although is currently on hold. Hope that helps.

I personally don't think th two connect. My grandparents have been together for 50 years and my mother has been in three different marriages. I personally don't like the idea of divorce unless it is an abusive situation that can't be worked out. If there are problems you should seek counseling and try to work it out before throwing in the towel. I think my relationship has lasted because we trust and support each other. We don't hide anything from each other. It makes the idea of a surprise a little challenging sometimes but we are never in question of what the other one is doing. When we are upset with each other we give each other time to calm down and then we talk it out.We also don't drink on a regular basis and don't believe in getting drunk. The marriages that have failed in my family all involved alcoholism.

I think a long term relationship is anything over 2 years. My fiance and I are celebrating our year and a half anniversary this month. This is the longest relationship I have been in and I am 24.

Some long term relationships lead to marriage which could last the rest of your life if you're lucky. It all depends on when/if you meet someone, marry and stay together for the rest of your life as to how many you'd have. It could be just one.
