What do you think about Patagonia?

I feel deeply privileged to have visited that part of the world and would love to do so again. Buenos Aires was amazing. I have been to so many cities, but that one had something special about it. We took a tour to Patagonia by flying to Puerto Madryn and were very fortunate in having Kati, a zoologist originally from Hungary, as a guide. One hears so much about the Welsh culture, but nobody seems to rave about the amazing wild life and we had someone to reveal it to us who would show infectious excitement at the sight of a Patagonian hare and who shared our paroxysms of delight when we wandered around a penguin colony.
Somehow I had gained the impression that there would be descendants of the early Welsh settlers everywhere, but my impression was that the people of Puerto Madryn, despite its name and the powerful statue of a Welshwoman symbolically turning her back on the sea (and the passage home) on the sea front, were predominantly of Italian descent. Gaiman http://www.patagonia-argentina.com/i/atlantica/puertomadryn/gaiman.htm was far more Welsh, but even there Kati had to do some rescheduling to enable us to visit the one tea house which she knew had a Welsh speaking waitress, Myfanwy. Kati was very proud of the conversation which ensued. I could here her running commentary to the rest of the group: "Listen to them talking, and they've never met before in their lives!" The scene was completed by the arrival of Professor and Mrs Jones, on a Sabbatical from Cardiff to teach Welsh to the Patagonians. He turned out to be from the next village to my father's!

Buenos Aires - loved it!

Patagona - amazing scenery and wildlife. Would absolutely LOVE the opportunity to return. Try to get down to Ushuia at the very tip of Argentina and if you can afford it, take one of the cruises that sail to Antarctica. Unfortunately, I didn't have money to do that but next time, definitely!!

It can get extremely cold - takes loads of layers to put on! Have a great time!

Patagonia is mainly Welsh speaking, but will speak English for tourists.

Most of the places are named after welsh towns and villages,some also speak welsh.

One of the most interesting region I visited. You are there in harmony with nature.
Animals like zorros (Foxes) eat in your end.The birds fly near you. I recommend you if you can to go there

After Easter island it is my favorite place
