ok so heres the deal, my boyfriend and i have been going out for 2 1/2 years, and this past week i have felt very distant from him. we have been arguing some - well i wanna do something special for him to get us close again. so i was thinking while he is at work i could figure out a little something. i was thinking making dinner (candle light corny or not?), maybe watching a movie (whats a good romantic comedy? or a movie u think would go good for this?) and i having some dessert too. what do u think of the idea? anything u would change or add? any stories to share or advice?

its never corny having a candle lit dinner, forget the tv though, play games with the dessert, if you know what I mean.

Do it he will feel appreciated. What you should do is make a nice meal and for dessert have some of that frozen fruit you buy at the store. make sure its thawed and put it in a bowl with whipped cream. Then the two of you could go in the tub for a bubble bath and a nice shower after. Or go to the body shop and get some massage oil and give him a full body massage and let him give you one as well. Do some stuff in bed then go shower together or do stuff in bed then watch a movie and shower. I've done all these and they have turned out to be the best times I have ever had with my GF of 4 years. For romantic comedy choose; 50 first dates.

Sounds ok the way you have it..
candles.. not too many clothes...

Be careful of the the movie, romantic comedy means chick-flick to a guy... My BF and I would watch cartoons.....
Then make love on the couch..

Chocolate cake and ice cream, when we could get up....

Try something al ittle more spontaneous. Like bring him lunch at work. Maybe were some lingerie and hide it under a coat. Or after your dinner do massages. Maybe serve his dinner to him in lingerie and a massage afterwards. Just a thought men like to be taken care of.
