Thanks!

Sorry he is in the Army, and a Captain he mentioned a few weeks ago most of his unit he was training would be leaving by 12/15/07. and he was going to try and see if his supervisor would let him leave the same week as them. I just have not heard from him so I am not sure what's going on now...

Well he called me this morning and he will not be leaving at all he said. So I guess his time off request was denied.

But why would he have made it sound like he was going to come out this week who knows...

Outside of civilian workers, military bases do not have a "holiday leave." Leave, as a member of the military, is arranged between the soldier and his supervisor and depending on the nature of his job (one that is open 24 hours--MP, Command Post), and the number of personnel available, he might not be able to get leave.

The military doesn't close on Christmas. Been there--done that.

He can take annual leave as long as he has it. Liberty for the holidays (not leave) usually starts on the 22nd or 23rd and lasts until the 27th. Liberty for New Years usually starts on the 30th and lasts until the 2nd or 3rd.

is he a student or is he at his permanent Duty station? Students do not have classes the 21st-Jan 3rd.. BUT that does NOT mean he will be able to take the entire time off for leave.

if he is not a student, he only gets leave if he puts in for it.
