Atheists are not a 'group' of people with a set of core values. Atheism by definition only, means the lack of belief in a god or deity. Nothing more. I alone have my own core values. The main core value I have is truth and if science can support the truth then I accept that.

"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."

The existence of God is impossible to prove unless there is an indication in the bible that there is a specific way to test for his existence. Circumstantial evidence is not a part of science. The duality of this claim, however, is that science neither supports nor refutes the position of atheists. As such, atheists cannot say that science disproves the existence of God. God lies out of the realm of science sadly, so any attempt to bring him in will meet with failure. It's just philosophy, and that cannot be decided upon for it is developed by subjective processes by subjective humans.

funny that these atheists are saying that science SUPPORTS their views.

The only thing science does is not OPPOSE your views...but that is the same thing it does for theists.

So overall...science seems to be on no ones side when it comes to religion. Shocking isn't it?

Good luck getting an atheist to admit that though...they truly believe that science proves what they believe.

Science is a set of tools used to investigate, observe, classify, and understand the natural world.

Atheists simply don't believe in god.

Science has never supplied any proof for the existence of any deity.

Neither have any of the religions of the world, they just say take it on faith.

Science is not about faith. Science is about reality.

Science supports facts NEVER views.

Science has gone a long way to showing us that none of the holy text are to be taken as literal truth. It certainly hasn't disproved the gods, but shows them as being very unlikely, as described in there ancient texts.

PS I like your questions today. They have made me think.

No, because empirical science cannot prove God. But did you ever notice that miracles are sometimes thought as being anti-science? They are not. They are only believed as being beyond natural occurance. If you do not believe in science, then there are no miracles.

Science *is* the core view of atheism.

I think we could agree that science supports a lack of belief in something that has no evidence to support it.

Well, science does not support the core views of theism, that's for sure.
