I bought my hubby a playstation 3 for Christmas. I want to buy him 3 games to go along with it, that way he has variety. He likes basketball games, but I want him to expand his horizon with games. I know if I get him a game (regardless of what it is) he will play it. But I want to get him something that is fun and that he will enjoy. So with that said, what are some good PS3 games that are currently out in stores now that I can possibly look into getting for him.

Just to let everyone know. I bought the 80GB, so he already has Motor Storm. Can some people who have played them, give me some background on Heavenly Sword and Assasins Creed? Which is better? I am pulling more towards Heavenly Sword because I want him to play with a girl but is the game as good as they say.

Assassin's Creed will blow him away. Never before have players had the freedom that they experience in Assassin's Creed.
Call of Duty 4 is a must buy - the single-player story/game is fantastic and the online multiplayer is incredibly addicting. Be sure he has the ability to play online. He will most likely spend most of his time playing COD 4 online - it is simply amazing.
Motorstorm is a great racing game that takes place outdoors in the desert.
Uncharted has gotten nothing but great reviews. Probably can't go wrong with this purchase.
Warhawk is a multiplayer-only game. If you have the capability to play online this game has the ability to play up to 32 people at once.
Heavenly Sword is an action game that is similar to God of War (a best seller for the ps2).

I've played both Assasins Creed and Heavenly Sword. Both games are really good, but I think I was floored with Heavenly Sword. The graphics on it are great. I also liked Eye of Judgement. That game is really addicting.

Call of Duty 4 - First Person Shooter (kinda short story), Great Online Play (MANY hours of play)
Uncharted Drakes Fortune - Great Story Game (kinda short story), puzzles and challenges, just like playing out a movie.
Oblivion: Elder Scrolls Game of the Year - If he hasn't played this one yet. First person Role Playing Game. (Long game)
If hes played any of the three I mentioned also try:
Resistance: Fall of Man - FPS (medium length story), Online FPS
Warhawk - Online Only Third Person Shooter
Heavenly Sword - Story Game (kinda short story), Action
I haven't play Assassins Creed yet so I cant tell you how that is, but I have played all of the above and would recommend all these to friends.

I think that you are doing a good thing by trying to expand his horizons on games because if he only just likes to play Sports games then he is really missing out on some very good games.

If he likes sports all the EA SPORTS games are good.. I even enjoy playing them with my husband! Madden Football is fun and so is Tiger Woods Golf!
