I have a friend who likes just the brittle, she doesn't like nuts. But someone told me that if you make it without nuts that it makes it bitter. Does anyone know anything about this?! Thank you!

It wouldn't be bitter it just would not be peanut brittle, it would just be brittle. All it is is butter and Karo syrup and a few other things. It would be really sweet. It may not set up correctly.

Just use the same recipe, leave out the nuts. With nuts it just tastes better for most people but it should not be bitter without it.

Never heard such a thing. And I have been baking for years. It'll taste fine. Like the previous poster said, all that sugar and butter could never be bitter.

It's fine to make it without the peanuts; it'll be super sweet because of the lack of salt.

Why not try a small batch and find out for yourself. If it is bitter try different ingredients until you get the taste you want.
