Do you ever think that Islam is over-looked?

I am a Muslim, and I feel as if everyone just looks over it once, and thinks that there is nothing to it. And why is everyone so disrespectful to the religion?

and another question- if it were Christians that blew up the World Trade Center, then would everyone be against them?

Because people are ignorant, and the media portrays Islam as evil, and something to fear. In reality it is all about people becoming independently educated about Islam's teachings and perhaps meeting Muslims who they can relate to.

Personally, I did not learn what Islam was until I was in high school and I started living with my father, who taught me about world religions. In school I didn't learn about contemporary Islam until I was in college. which is a serious issue with our school systems.

Answer to question 2: No. Those "Christians" would be portrayed as only bad eggs--and not Christians at all. The media would choose to portray them in this way.

Allah is the Arabic word for God. Christians and Jews in Arab speaking countries call God Allah. Jews, Christians, and Muslims all accept Pentateuch as the first part of their holy book. They are all people of Abraham and follow Abrahamic Traditions.

this year god called me so i sought him and began to read the bible. i was working with a moslem and he told me islam is the same god as the bible. so i started to read the quran after the bible, logical order.
i find that the 2 books must be from different personalities. allah is not yhwh. the bible prophesies a terrible confrontation at the end time between the people of god and an army of desolate people who follow a foreign god believing him to be the true god. it names the nations involved, which are currently islamic. your quran and hadiths command moslems to be that army. bible prophecy is 100% accurate and is being fulfilled to this day.
to believe allah to be god, you must believe god sent down 700 years of prophecy about jesus and his crucifixion, then at the last moment changed his mind, fooled everyone into believing it had happened, raised up the largest false (according to islam) religion, then sent mohammed to correct the situation and slay unbelievers. but where are his miracles? what are his fulfilled prophecies? if allah can reneg on his prophecies, he is not the true god who sent the prophecy. he is therefore revealed as the foreign god prophesied, and islam revealed as the army of the beast under the false religion prophesied.
this is why i cannot respect islam. you are trapped in a cleverly woven deceit. i'm sorry. while i love moslems, islam is a lie. prophecy declares the god of the bible to be true. never mind "paraclete", the true prophecies about islam are in revelation. please read and understand the true prophecies, not mohammeds reverse prophecies which put you against god, against truth and destined for fire.
when you see damascus destroyed, know it was prophesied by god and, like the rebirth of israel, was something allah could not see. then you must turn to the true god, for this day will be near the end.

sadly, people tend to disrespect others religions and beliefs. and unfortunately there is nothing we can do to change that.
i am a convert (or revert, as you prefer) to the Religion of Truth. Islam (whether one agrees or not) is a perfect way of life. it is the only religion accepted by God.

yes, there are some people that commit suicide and kill innocent people in the process but it is something that is against the teachings of Islam. Islam is a religion that teaches that life is sacred. some young muslims get 'hot under the collar' though because they are always being stereotyped and labelled as terrorists. that is when they want to 'take revenge'.
and what is worse, they don't have sufficient knowledge of their religion (or they take things out of context) and then do irresponsible and irrational things.

i would just like to add that muslim women are not oppressed. Islam only seeks to protect women. when a woman is fully covered, not only is her beauty hidden from prying eyes but she gains respect.
and i willingly cover myself, no one forces me to.

Any system of belief should be looked at, and I did.
For myself because I believe it correct I am Christian.
As for others, I suspect it may be the violence they have seen, and not just the suicide bombings. Recently, a young girl was murdered by her own father because she did not wear some head scarf like the religion dictates. Who wants to be in something like that?
While I think we BOTH know there are extremists, and they are not representative of all Muslims, people hear of these things, and make their decisions based on the acts they hear about.

No, I think people are paying to much attention to your stupid religion that is stuck in the dark ages.
Why is your religion disrespectful of innocent people who would prefer not to be blown up in the name of some stupid moon god named Allah?
Why is your religion still worshiping a pedophile who wasn't happy enough with his wives and had to marry a little girl when he was old enough to be her grandpa?
Yeah, islam is perhaps looked at too often by dumb people who don't know the truth that it belongs in the dark ages.

Not everyone, but I will admit that it's most everybody. I think it's because of the extremists of the religion give it a bad rep. I personally wouldn't go to the religion, because ALL religions in my book are cults.

If you guys would quit blowing people up and oppressing the women of your religion, you might get better press. I understand that not all Muslims are terrorists, but all of the women are certainly oppressed (can't go out without a scarf, etc.). You need to unite against those in your religion who act violently, and change some of your fundamentalist views.

Too many people are swayed by extremists. The only example of Islam that most people ever see is the suicide bombers and other jihadists that make people turn the other way. More of the peaceful side of Islam must be shown for people to respect it.
