I'm thinking about buying another Jeep. I would like a Wrangler but everyone tells me they're too dangerous. What's your opinion?

I have two Jeep Grand Cherokee's. I love them but I'd like something a little more adventurous to drive in the country.

I want a JEEP!
Can I have one of your old ones,
when you get your new one?

I don't think the danger is the jeep
itself, I think it MAY be the "loose screw"
behind the wheel! Ha, ha, ha! x)

Going off-roading in the mountains?
Have fun and BE SAFE!

I would say Jeeps (Wranglers) are more safe than almost any other vehicle. I would be willing to drive one head-on into a volvo(supposed to be the safest) or any other type of car/SUV. maybe not a large truck. One of the main reasons why I LOVE my Jeep is because it makes me feel safe. Those people who told you they are dangerous have NO experience with Jeeps and they are simply repeating what they have heard others say.

Jeeps are great. Reliable, safe, long-lasting, and built in America by an American company. You can't beat that. If you want one, get one. I promise you will NOT regret it.

No way Honey...The Jeeps of the last 20 years or so have a wider stance and a lower center of gravity. They are not more likely to tip over than any other SUV. You also get a solid front axle instead of those wimpy CV shafts, air bags, built in roll cage, bumpers mounted to the frame...the list goes on.

I just got a 4 door Wrangler soft top...I love the freaking thing. Great gas milage too! Good Luck!

I drove a Jeep Wrangler for 12 years straight! They are only as dangerous as the person who sits behind the wheel!! I never ever had a bit of trouble with either of my Jeeps - 1994 & 2001 and actually miss them so much, I may go out and get another one. They are so versatile and you can always count on getting a great parking spot!! I drove mine across rivers, through the mountains and across the country twice!! The only downfall I see is the gas mileage; I usually averaged around 15 mpg, but I had bigger tires on mine otherwise I probably would've gotten about 19 mpg. I say GO FOR IT!!!

Go for it! We have a 99 Wrangler and I feel safer in it than our pick up or Explorer. We had an '81 CJ but sold it. We live in an area that Jeepin is just as much recreational as it is an everyday drive. It sounds like someone that is affraid of a "real" jeep is trying to sway your opinion and wants. Just go for it!!

i think it really depends on where you live and if it is your everyday ride. I am sure it doesn't have 5 star crash rating. I bought a Jeep Laredo a couple of months ago and I love it. I also had to buy something kid friendly too. Everyone I have talked to says they are great vehicles. Besides, they offer lifetime power train warranties. You can't beat that.

Any vehicle is dangerous regardless of what make/model. If you drive it recklessly sure its dangerous. Drive it responsibly, don't try taking a sharp curve or corner trying to do excessive speeds and the Wrangler is just as safe as any other vehicle. Plus they're great offroad.

Yes they are safe, as long as you respect them. Know the limits of the jeep and you will be fine.

And if the jeep is for you...awesome, you'll have fun in it.
