Is there a type of game that plays on the PS3 (when i say type i mean wat the game is made of like memory and etc.) or is there a list? if it is a list can someone tell me a few names?

i have 80 since 20 and 60 stopped selling

It depends on your PS3. If you have the 40GB version, i'm sorry to say its not backwards compatible: http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/About/faq
If you have the 60 and 80GB versions there is a list on the website of what is backwards compatible, but I think it's safe to say all are.

The 20& 60GB PS3 can play almost every PS1 and PS2 game ever made because they have the Emotion Engine chip, so you don't really need a list. I have a 60GB PS3 and I've been able to play every PS1 and PS2 game that I've ever had in it.
The 80GB PS3 on the other hand can play probably about 75-80% of PS1 and PS2 games. You can to the playstation website and check the backwards compatibility status with different games to see if they are compatible with the 80GB PS3.
