Its my third day taking the 5 day dosage (with 2 pills the first day). They're the little pink pills. I'm a 19 yr old male in college, and I've drank on antibiotics before, but it was a different antibiotic and i had an adverse reaction (i.e. more puking than normal for a hangover)... I'm wondering if Zithromax will produce the same reaction (puking, diarrhea) if I only drink moderately over this weekend. Thanks for help!

You could probably drink 1 or 2 glasses without getting diarrhea nor vomiting, but that is not the point.
If you are taking antibiotics then what is the purpose of trying to get medical help if you are going to drink alcohol? Medicine metabolizes is the liver and alcohol too, so even if you have 1 or 2 glasses of alcohol and you don't get diarrhea nor vomiting, you might damage your liver even if you don't feel it right now, the consequences are going to last a lifetime. Think about it and don't drink anythig.

Z-pack is only taken for 5 days, but works in the system for around 10 days. Depending on the sinus infection, you should start feeling better in a couple of days. The patients that I've known to use a Z-pack for sinus infection have been very happy with the results. Remember, drink plenty of fluids too. This will help the antibiotic flush the stuff from your system.

Treatment for sinus infection can begin from home just at the onset of it before it becomes chronic. Simple care at home can open the sinus nasal passage and improve their dryness. There should be much intake of hot liquid beverages to keep the dryness away. Inhalation with steamed water with a drop eucalyptus oils helps to a great extent.
For Sinus infection treatment doctors prescribe Expectorants that helps to push out the thick mucus from the nasal passage. The mucus becomes thin and it can easily flow out from the nose.
For sinusitis caused by virus infection, antibiotic cure is not necessary. Only acute sinus infection from bacteria is generally taken care of with antibiotic treatment. That is when there is much facial pain pus generation and other self care treatment does not seem to work. Medicines for pain such as ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen can lessen the pain and inflammation. These medications help to open the nasal passage by reducing inflammation.and must be able to kill the bacterial types. Medications like Amoxicillin (Amoxil) , cefaclor (Ceclor), loracarbef (Lorabid), clarithromycin (Biaxin), azithromycin (Zithromax), sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim (Bactrim, Septra) antibiotic may be used as first choices to treat sinus.

alcohol destroys the effectiveness of the antibiotic for one thing....why bother with the drug if you intend to drink?
For another, zithromax will most definitely make you ill if you take alcohol, both while you are taking it and for five days after, so I recommend you go on the wagon until next weekend.

The antibiotic was not the cause of your increase puking in the past and will not play a part in your drinking this time. The alcohol and the meds will not interact abnormally but they may cause increased stomach irritation. You are safe to drink as much as you want.
