...shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
Deuteronomy 23:1
Bit harsh, isn't it? There can't be many men who haven't been kicked in the 'stones' at some point in their life. And frankly, if I'd had my 'privy member' cut off, I'd be expecting a bit of sympathy.

I'm also curious, if this is just an archaic law, how did they enforce it. Checkpoints at the entrances?

This is under the laws of Israel. And those who cut their balls off did so for the neigbor peoples & their gods. So? This was a cult activity. And God won't allow idolatry in His congregation.
This isn't a situation of getting kicked in the balls. And we are living in the age of Grace right now. Even if we did some idolatrous practices in the past, we can come before God & repent or our wicked ways.

these people are subject to death if anyone finds out what theyre doing.
1. people who wear clothes made of 2 different materials
2. men who shave their beards.

Old Law to keep His children in line. They do not apply to today. We are circumcised when we accept Christ through faith.
