Is it like a costume party? If she was being a fairy or something I might put some glitter on her eyelids, but not if it is just "dressing nicely".

1) No. The whole point of dating is to get married, and 12 year olds can not get married. 2) Yes. But not every day, or become dependent on it. Makeup is covering your face up, not 'bringing out your inner beauty' or whatever they call it. It makes women insecure. 3) I'm want to have a family emergency phone, my family has one, where there is a cell phone that kids take when we are out with friends or whatever, in case we need to call. Emergency only. 4) Not even if she was 17. No child of mine will ever wear a bikini. 5) No child of mine will ever wear short shorts for anything other than pajamas. 6) It depends on the friends and how big the mall, for how long and how responsible she is. I would never let her go alone if I was not somewhere in the mall, though. Not because I wouldn't trust her, but because kidnappers and other people that can harm children are out there. 7) Depends. 8) Yes. 9) Yes.

I have a 7 year old, and she likes to wear make up for dress up, but thats the only time allowed. She doesn't leave the house with it on, ever. 7 is way to young. I guess I just get that from my mom, lol, she wouldn't allow me to wear make up till I was 16, and once I hit 16 I didn't see the point. Everyone knew how I looked without it by then. I am 27 now and still don't wear any at all.

I wouldn't let her unless it was a dress up party. Frankly, if the other 7 year olds are wearing makeup, then I'd want my daughter to have different friends. If all the girls are dressing up like princesses, that's one thing, but 7 is WAY TOO YOUNG to be wearing makeup. That is my opinion.

Yes... maybe a little. Right now I'm 13 and I wear makeup to school, and about 2/3 of the other kids do. But she is seven, so maybe just some light pink lipgloss. If she wants more, you could sprinkle some baby powder on her face and say it is "makeup".

When my 12 year old was that age all I allowed was lip gloss or a light lipstick and a skin tone eyeshadow and a little blush, but that's it. SOMETIMES I'd put on a tiny bit of mascarra but that's it.

Just do lipgloss and a skin tone eyeshadow, it won't be too noticable and I'm sure your husband won't mind. Show him what you have planned and then if he still says no, then tell your daughter Daddy doesn't want her to do it and we have to support Daddy's descisions.

Good luck!

i wasnt allowed to wear makeup til i was 12, then i actually needed it some, i had bad acne and it was embarrassing. anyway if she is playing the part of a princess, let her put on some lipgloss eyeshadow and a little blush. (help her so she doesnt look like a trashy little girl) do it cutesy u know.

I agree with you: I find it acceptable for my 5 yr old to wear makeup around the house- makeup being a bit of lipgloss and maybe a tiny bit of sparkle eyeshadow. Within the next year or so I will likely graduate her to being allowed to wear it out on very special occasions, like Christmas parties and such.

School and everyday is out of the question, NO way. She is allowed chapstick with no color only.

For a dressing up birthday party, yeah. But there is a limit. I would only allow eyeshadow and a light lipstick. No eyeliner or mascarra.

Absolutely not. My daughter loves to watch me put on make up and loves to play dress up (for which I let her put on chapstick as "lip-gloss"), but I want to constantly instill in her that she couldn't possibly be more beautiful than she already is and that make-up will only hide her amazing beauty.
