There is a plus though by going in the wet season - the hotel rates are cut by at least 50% to attract someone to them.

So, if accommodation isn't an issue - go during the peak season where that & other commodities are far more expensive than in the off time.

All you'll need is an umbrella & half as much money!

The Dry season, May to October. It gets very wet in Cairns in the wet season and many roads to interesting places are closed due to flooding. You can also get tropical cyclones which will make a mess of anyone's holiday. It is the tropics so although it is winter in southern Australia it is still warm all the time but it doesn't rain every day.

Between April and September. Because this is the dry season. During the wet Season the humidity is very high. you would constantly be in a sweat. Monsoonal rains are frequent in the wet also cyclones.

during wintertime in the U.S. because when its the summer here its going to be winter there, and vice versa. You definetly need to go snorkeling in the GBR (great barrier reef) - its SO fun! and the daintree rainforest if ur a nature person. Have fun there!
