What is the best place for sea fishing from Southend around to the Isle of Wight? I am getting a sea rod and tackle for Xmas and would like to know the best places.I live in London
and can get to most areas

There's lots of areas around there firstly you have the choice of beach or boat, i assume its shore fishing your starting out with and this time of year is the time to do it in the UK, good baits to try are rag worm, mussel, lug worm, squid, and best of all crab. I would check with your local tackle shop as they will be best to advise you on the most productive area at the moment but you could check out sea angler magazine and also the sea a angling web forums of your area, but check these out.

Try off the west Cumbrian coast near Sellafield,the locals reckon the Nuclear fission is the best in the world
