Study hard, do well. BUT do it for God, and as if you were working for God. Every time you study, begin to pray and tell God you are dedicating your study to HIM. And take a Sabbath Forget what people say.rest from it, don't be obsessive with work. Have a heart for excellence, but not for perfectionism (scared of making a mistake).

Simply make God the Lord of your studies, and work to please HIM.

You are certainly a christian (may be a new one) because you want to progress spiritually and can recognize some of the false Prophets who are around.
If you have come this far your father's opinion should not matter much.
Being a good christian and studying well do not clash with each other, on the contrary being spiritually one with Jesus would rather help you to achieve your goal.
You lack good guidance that's the problem.

I assume you have a non-Christian background.

It is true that not all claiming to be Christians are such. But that is not the fault of the Bible. The Bible even warns about such people.

Your father is pressuring you to study further? If you are still dependent on him, you should obey him. Getting that education will get you onto your own feet in the end.

The environment, tell me about it. If the parents of my schoolmates knew half of what their children do here- they'd get heart attacks!!!

You have to learn to balance things and set priorities, if you want to perform well, you have to set time aside to study. To progress spiritually you need to set aside time for reading the Bible, prayer and also having associates who do the same.

Keep away from bad company and you'll do fine.

I think Raja its because there is a part deep in our being called our spirit that desires God. Man, being made in the image of God has been made specifically as a vessel for God. God is Spirit and man has a spirit to match this wondeful God that you are reading about in the Bible.

Where there is something genuine you will always find things that are false. You have diamonds and fake ones:) But by handling the genuineness of the Bible you will develop a discernment for the genuine article.

Being in your position is not an easy one at all Raja. Many have had to undergo much suffering to stand on the side of the Lord. My own grandmother left Hinduism and was dealt with in a bad way. But there is just something about the bible and the Lord Jesus that draws us. I guess it goes back to the reason we were created huh.

May the Lord be your grace and mercy during this time Raja. As you apply yourself to your higher studies may the Lord truly reach you in a deep way. Its at this crucial time in our lives that we really seek a meaning for our human existence.
Here is an interesting read if you get some time Raja:)

Book 330 is a good title.

5The Lord Jesus is rich upon those who call on His name. Just know that whatever you are going to face you can have the Lord to be your supply of strength and grace.

One young punjabi girl who was my neighbour had such a strong desire for the Lord. She left her house one day adn went in search of a christian church and went knocking on the door. No one was there. Not long after she met my sister who was in her class and after talking for a while this young lady opened up her being to the Lord and received Him into her spirit. On the one hand she knew that she would be persecuted by her parents but the JOY OF THE LORD was her strength. The Lord just shined from her innermost being. Her testimony just strenghened me so much .

To all the genuine believers who are reading your post you can be sure they will offer up a prayer to the Lord on your behalf. The Lord knows that you are seeking Him and He said that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Ty for opening up and sharing with us.
Here is an excellent study bible if you are interested Raja.

Christianity is not a bible based religion. Believers followed Torah for 300 years after the Messiah, until the "Christians" outlawed obedience!

Why is your father against it? Is he of another faith? Good luck, and hope your study brings you peace and understanding of your fellow man.

Go to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ when you read his word. Then like all of us find a family of God were you can go to meeting to share beliefs and testify what how the Lord blessed you through the week. God bless you in your walk with God . love you my brother in Christ.

I happen to agree with your father. The bible has not proven to be truth, and most (not all) christians do not practice what they preach.
