That's a set-up question.

1) NO, all non catholics will NOT go to Hell
2) I'm a Catholic because the Church teaches the fullness of Christ's truth

Here's one of my analogies:

Suppose the International Olympics Committee created an Olympics training camp with Olympic programs and Olympic coaches and invited young athletes from all over the world to come and participate. The idea would be that competitors would receive training and coaching sponsored by the Olympics Committee itself. They would be housed, fed, and trained, coached, conditioned for several years, right up to the day of competition.

What an opportunity for these athletes!!

And suppose some youngsters who hoped to compete in a few years decided to say, "Well . . . I guess not, thanks just the same. I think I'll go with my own coach, my own training program. I don't want to leave my family. I don't want to leave my country. I'll stay here and train hard, and will do fine."

Well, maybe they will, some of them. Maybe on the day of the Olympics, some of the do-it-yourself trained athletes really will pull it off, and bring home the gold.

But if you had your heart set . . . absolutely set on the gold - you gotta have it!! - wouldn't you insist on joining up with the training program that the Olympic Committee set up and invited athletes from the world over to participate in?

P.S. I am a Catholic with beloved Protestant family members, and atheist ones, too. I also love and admire my Muslim, Jewish, and Buddhist friends and neighbors and colleagues.

I don't think I am "better" than they are. Instead, if I thought about it, really, I might be a tad embarassed that with all the gifts and resources God has given to me through the Catholic Church, that *I* don't have more to show for it, i.e., by being a better person and a better Christian than I am!

No, of course not.

When I was converting, that was a big issue for me. I told the priest that if I had to think that only Catholics go to heaven and not anybody else, then I would never become Catholic. I had been told that Catholics think everybody else is going to hell. The priest showed me in the Catechism where it says the opposite.

Catholics do NOT think they are better than anybody else, either.

No.

+ Non-Catholics +

The Catholic Church teaches:

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

+ Catholics +

I believe Catholics are the fullest expression of the Church of Christ. Why would I want to reject any of these wonderful gifts?

+ Better? +

Of course not. I am a sinner just like every one else.

If Catholics were perfect then we would not need the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession).

+ With love in Christ.

Hell the way you think don't exist . The bible teaches that hell, hades, sheol, (english-hebrew-greek) are the words that all mean the same thing that being the grave.Do you as a catholic believe that JESUS went to sheol (HELL). That,s what your interpretation of the bible say's. So the point is Jesus having never sinned went to (sheol-hell-hades) his death and grave, and then on the 3rd day was resurrected .JESUS was a perfect man when he died thus having the ability to be our ransomer that,s why we as christian people have a shot at being listened to by our GOD. Faith in Jesus is only the beginning of honoring our GOD and father JEHOVAH. He is the one who has sent us his son so all putting faith in him might have everlasting life.So get rid of the scare tatics that the cathoic church uses to keep people in line, it does,t work any more. Hope this helps you and all others who want to learn the truth of GOD.

I was raised Baptist and told that all Catholics would go to hell. But I had no friends at church, and lived in a catholic neighborhood, and all the fun and loving people I knew were catholic so my decision to go to hell to be with them was pretty easy.

No, non-Catholics won't go to Hell. While Catholics believe our church is the orignal Christian faith, we realize other denominations have much in relation to us. You go to Hell if you hate God and do not repent your sins.

You obviously aren't Catholic, but I am, so do you think I'm going to Hell?

you aren't a catholic in order to go to heaven...you are a catholic because it is the most complete way to Jesus Christ. Heaven is being in Christ..and His church is..we believe Catholic!...as for non-catholics...you know where to find us.

What the individual thinks about who will ultimately go to Heaven and who will ultimately go to Hell is irrelevant.

It's what the Man Upstairs thinks that counts.

Anyone can go to Heaven if they are good people who tried to live their lives in an ethical way. My belief system fits me and is good for me. I wouldn't want to impose my beliefs on anyone else. To each their own.
