As in most cases, it is a placebo. You opened the Bible already knowing youwere going to find an answer. It is like horiscopes... people will take from it what they want to. A passage in the Bible's meaning for you does not necessarily have the same meaning as it would for me.

Just like in confession, when you feel good because you feel your sins are forgiven. You revealed your guilty conscience to someone and they told you it was ok and that you are a good person. Nothing actually happened... you just feel better about yourself and got rid of things that were weighing on your mind; you aren't spiritually pure and you're still going to decompose when you're dead.

The Bible does not have an answer for everything in the literal sense. If I want to know how to deal with the fact that my younger brother got into a horrible car accident and is now a vegetable, which passage would possibly relate? I would have to interpret the $hit out something to pull any kind of meaning from it, and if I'm working that hard, why don't I man up and deal with it myself rather than ask a science fiction book over 2000 years old?

The standards for inter-personal relationships and the general moral life espoused in The Bible of The True Christian Faith would be good standards for all to follow... but... the full commitment to them can only work if one if of The Faith... trying to implement a "christian" lifestyle with out the full commitment to it does not work, and never has, for any one.... however... the founding fathers of The United States saw some benifit from the basic standards of The Christian teaching and included many of the concepts into the law of the land... not to promote a state"religion"...but as a basic guide for lawful moral behavior of citizens of a Representative democracy.

Yes! I believe that also, I have alot of friends that say that the bible contradicts itself so much that they cannot live by it! My rebuttle is usually that the bible doesn't tell you to go and kill people (although in times of battle David would turn to God!) It doesn't say molest children and to drink and drive, or to not love your family, I tell my friends that are undecided in their sexuality that the bible doesn't tell you to have relations with the same sex, and that there is a whole book(Corinthians) that is dedicated to marriage and the purpose of it! I think that it is a guide to living right! My Spiritual mother and I think of it as a pop- up book, because at times when I need to know what to do I get into my word and the first that I see is always about my situation and what I should do in that moment!(also called a Rhema word) So, yes I also think that it is Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth ( as the old school believers call it!!! Stay blessed Fisher's Of Men!! Now I know you walk in the name that you use in Yahoo!!!! Keep on keepin on!

The bible does have a lot of answers for life's problems but, you have to read it and absorb it yourself. Do not take anyone elses' translation because only you can interperet what it means to you. Everyone has a little inate-ability to know what is right and what is wrong.

If I need an answer to a question that I cannot figure out on my own, I turn to the people closest to me.

Things are happy and OK for the most part and I have never looked at the bible for answers.

I don't see the Bible as the "answer book of life." Surely, it is a guide. It is a support of my faith to be sure, but it is not the be-all-end-all of my faith. Movement of the Living God takes primacy in my life, the Bible acts, at times, as interpreter of this movement. Sometimes the Movement acts as the interpreter.

Listen, watch, act....

peace regards respects
