Depends on what happened to lead to the divorce. If the proceedings take a year, I don't see any reason to wait after it's finalized; I likely would have already moved on and come to terms with it. But if the divorce was sudden and unexpected, or it was particularly nasty and involved children, I might wait a while for my own peace of mind.

I started dating a couple of months before my divorce was final. Heck, my marriage was pretty much over anyway.

Until I was ready. In both cases the marriage hadn't been "good" in a while so there was little emotionally to get over...

Each individual should do what's best for them, but at least be emotionally over their previous partner/spouse 100% before moving on to someone else.

I started before we got divorced - while we were separated (divorce paperwork had already been filed).

It's really up to you there is no certain time period to wait. It's more up to you and whenever you feel comfortable but make sure you give yourself time to heal
