If you didn't give consent, he would need to have a solid reason to think that you were up to no good and that he was going to find evidence of it.

If you consented to a search he may search.

In this respect police officers are just like ordinary people you would meet on the street. If a stranger walked up to you and said "hey, do you mind if I look through your wallet?" and you said yes - he could lawfully do it - same for a police officer.

When lawful people consent to searches it makes police officers jobs easier -because it highlights an unlawful person when they do not consent.

Entrapment ability the Police 'motivate' somebody to devote against the regulation they'd in any different case no longer have. at a similar time as using a 'decoy' pushes this thought somewhat, it is not entrapment except a 2d undercover officer encourages the perp to rob the decoy.

The only reasons an officer can search you and your car without consent is if a) you are under arrest and he has read you your rights or b) if evidence (drugs, gun, etc.) are in plain sight. Otherwise, he would have to get a warrant first.

Search and seizure is a tricky issue and under certain circumstances officers may search either with consent, a search warrant, or incident to arrest.

You don't provide enough details for me (or anyone) to give you a good answer. You need to state what happened to cause the officer to pull you over, what you were doing when you got pulled over, what was said between you and the officer, and any other pertinent information.

To my knowledge, they cannot do that, unless you were already arrested, or you give them permission to search you car. If you ended up with a ticket I would get a lawyer.

yes, if you ask for probable cause, and he gives you probable cause he can...but he can just make something up anyway and it's legit...besides wallets are a common place to hide sacks...he just can't take anything from your wallet that is legally yours.
