I have had joint pain for approximately 6 years now, but it has now gotten worse and I've noticed that its all on my right side. Recently my index finger on my right hand has been swollen and very sore and pain is now shooting from my finger, up across my knuckles, into my wrist and into the thumb. I went to the doctor and he is telling that it sounds like "calciatitis". I dont know what that is, but he did explain that it's a calcium build up in my finger on the bone. Has anyone heard of that before? Is it serious? I am pending blood test results to see if arthritis is in my system.

It does sound very much like arthritis (most likely rheumatoid). Arthritis tends to start somewhere in your body slowly, and eventually works its way through. If you are diagnosed with arthritis, there are many ways to ward off the pain naturally.

I think you mean Calcification! I am due to have a x-ray for calcification on my left shoulder. Well he will probably want to do an autoimmune screening, FBC and look at how much calcium you have in your blood. As to if it is serious? I started Rheumatoid Arthritis at 21 years of age. I am now 49, still mobile, but do not work. Therefore it could be serious, if they find certain forms of Arthritis, likewise it might just be calcification. Good Luck

Your symptoms resemble arthritis. Blood tests don't always show the presence of arthritis. The type of Doctor best for this is a Rheumatologist, they have more experience which is important because there are a large variety of types of arthritis. If you have chronic inflammation it is necessary to control it as soon as possible before it cause bone damage.
